Although Wolf Game is rich in both lore and satire, the world and story building aspects of the game are pivotal to its functioning. Within the game, users can stake their NFTs to earn $WOOL. Giant
Giant, launched on February 16, 2022, is a small-batch photography collection from Ukrainian artist Artem Humilevskiy. Created over two years, Giant was one of the first photo projects Humilevskiy took on after initially familiarizing himself with a camera in 2019.
Having taken thousands of pictures and traveled countless kilometers for this project, Humilevskiy has said that Giant is, in essence, “a journey in search of one’s own identity.” The collection is an undeniably unique endeavor even among the ranks of the NFT photography market and showcases an interesting success story born from adversity.
Degen Toonz
Degen Toonz launched on February 16, 2022, is a cartoon cat-themed PFP collection founded by NFT community members Bader Asad and Prince Lail. Featuring 8,888 unique NFTs, the collection has remained a community favorite throughout the 2022 bear market.
While the Degen Toonz NFT membership-based philosophy draws on the tried and true methods of established PFP projects, the Toonz team has kept its community members on their toes with various collector rewards and collaborative initiatives. Having recently dropped a merch collab with superstar DJ Steve Aoki and received a cosign from Snoop Dogg, Degen Toonz continues to prove that bear markets can be a prosperous time, even for PFP projects.
Defaced ‘N’ Friends
Defaced ‘N’ Friends, launched on September 7, 2021, is a collection of 100 hand-drawn characters from multidisciplinary artist Defaced. With a catalog of impressive client work under his belt, Defaced turned his attention toward the NFT space in 2021, with his ‘N’ Friends series becoming his first large-scale collection.
As the distribution of his art throughout the NFT ecosystem had been confined to only a handful of releases, Defaced ‘N’ Friends served to help add to the influential artists’ catalog while allowing his fans to collect a 1/1 from his vault. The collection sold out almost immediately and was heralded as a shining example of the success that an independent artist can achieve via small-batch collections.
Catalina Whale Mixer
The Catalina Whale Mixer, launched on December 17, 2021, is a multifaceted whale-themed PFP project directly correlated to Web3 native entertainment studio WAGMI Beach. Capped at 5,555 NFTs, the Catalina Whale collection has gained significant notoriety as a Solana PFP project.
Catalina Whales is one of the few Solana NFT projects aiming to become an all-encompassing entertainment brand. Although we’ve seen many Ethereum projects venture down the same road, WAGMI Beach has been adamant about becoming the “Web3 Disney for adults.”
